THE Welsh Ambulance Service is inviting nominations for its annual awards ceremony.

You can nominate staff in any part of the organisation right across Wales in more than a dozen categories, including Team of the Year, Learning and Innovation and Inspiring Others.

To celebrate the launch of the Trust’s first Volunteer Strategy, you can nominate a Community First Responder or Volunteer Car Service Driver for a Volunteer of the Year Award.

You can also nominate a member of the public for a Public Recognition Award, designed to celebrate those who go above and beyond to help people in their community.

Anyone can nominate, including staff, volunteers, patients, members of the public and partner agencies.

Chief Executive Jason Killens said: “We could not function as an ambulance service if it were not for our staff and volunteers, so it’s really important that we celebrate their contributions.

“It’s been an incredibly tough 18 months but our people have continued to demonstrate overwhelming commitment to the people of Wales.

“Often, our people don’t realise that what they do is special; they see is as part of their daily job, so the WAST Awards are an opportunity to pause and reflect on their achievements and say a big thank you.

“This year, I’m also looking forward to recognising our volunteers with two new awards following the launch of the Trust’s Volunteer Strategy.

“I’m so inspired by the service we provide across all aspects of our work, throughout the whole organisaition, and I look forward to seeing this year’s shortlist.”
