Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has confirmed that new testing centres will open in Porthcawl and Coity this week.

Testing will be available at Porthcawl RFC (CF36 3DH) from tomorrow (Friday August 27) and will be open from 9am to 5pm. The site will incorporate both a drive through testing facility with booking required and also, a walk-in option for which booking is not required.

A new drive-through testing centre will also open on Friday at Coity and Litchard Community Centre (CF31 1PA). It will be open from 9am-5pm and booking is essential.

Mobile testing facilities at Ogmore Vale Primary School and Porthcawl Comprehensive School will close at the end of today (Thursday).

The walk-through testing centre at the Bowls Hall car park in Angel Street, Bridgend (CF31 4AH) is available between 2pm-8pm, and booking remains essential for this site.

You can arrange appointments by visiting the Welsh Government website or calling 119. If you have hearing or speech difficulties, you can call 18001119 as an alternative.

The Covid-19 pandemic is still very much with us. If you develop any symptoms, including a new, continuous cough, a high temperature or a change to your sense of smell or taste, we urge you to book a test immediately.

Across the county borough, we are approaching 100,000 fully vaccinated people and 86 per cent of the eligible population have had at least their first dose of the vaccine.

    Council leader Huw David

Testing units in Nantymoel and at the site of the former Revlon (Cosi) factory in Maesteg closed last week.
