Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has announced that people overdue their second Covid-19 vaccination can now walk-in to any community vaccination centre for their second jab without booking an appointment.
The walk-in offer is available to those who received their first dose of the vaccine eight weeks or more ago and applies to every community vaccination centre in the health board’s area.
This includes Ravens Court in Bridgend town centre (CF31 4AP) where the walk-in appointments are available between 9.15am and 4.30pm. Details of other vaccination centres in the region are available on the health board’s website which is updated weekly.
The Pfizer vaccine will be administered from Mondays to Thursdays, while both the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine and Pfizer vaccine will administered on Fridays.
Over 100,000 people across Bridgend county borough are now fully vaccinated against coronavirus with more than 205,000 doses (first and second) administered in total.
Anyone aged 16 and over who has yet to receive their first dose can also walk into a Covid-19 Vaccination Centre to receive it. With no prior booking required, the walk-in appointments are available at community vaccination centres within the region.
Anyone who wishes to take advantage of the walk-in appointments will need to bring along a form of ID such as a passport, drivers licence or a utility bill for proof of address.
We are pleased to see that getting your second dose has now been made even easier for those who are overdue their second jab.
Hitting the 100,000 last week was a fantastic achievement for the county borough and is a big step towards fighting this ongoing pandemic.
I want to urge all those who are yet to get their second dose and all those who are over the age of 16 and have not had their first dose to attend a Covid-19 Vaccination Centre to receive it. Having the vaccine ensures you, your family and friends and wider community are protected from the virus as much as possible.

The health board has also announced that from today (Friday), lateral flow testing kits are no longer be available for collection from mobile testing sites, and need to be either ordered online for home delivery or picked up from a participating pharmacy.

Free mobile testing for anyone who is experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 remains available in Bridgend County Borough with sites currently based at Porthcawl, Coity and Bridgend town centre.
Testing is available at Porthcawl RFC (CF36 3DH) from 9am to 5pm all week, including Saturday and Sunday. This site incorporates both a drive-through testing facility, which must be booked in advance, and a walk-in option where no booking is required.
Drive-through testing is also available at Coity and Litchard Community Centre (CF31 1PA) from 9am-5pm, and at the walk-through facility based at the Bowls Hall car park in Angel Street, Bridgend (CF31 4AH) which is available between 8am-8pm – booking for both of these sites is essential.
