It is safe to say that the business environment has been turbulent to say the least over the last 18 months, with COVIDandBREXIT affecting businesses in so many ways.

With the business community fighting back and businesses showing resilience, we’re delighted to be supporting the 2021 Cardiff Business Awards, as headline sponsors.

The awards recognise those entrepreneurial and innovative ventures that are making a difference in our great city and there is no better time to celebrate business success.

Businesses in all sectors are being called to enter the 7th Cardiff Business awards before the nominations deadline closes on Friday 17th September 2021, with the awards ceremony taking place on Friday 26th November 2021 in City Hall.

The prestigious Cardiff Business Awards were launched in 2015 to celebrate those businesses in Cardiff making a difference to, and championing, the City. Previous Business of the Year winners include: IQE, Eversheds, Sure Chill, Celsa Steel, Euroclad and GorillaTV.

Cardiff continues to grow as a centre for economic activity and as a great place to work and live. Not only are financial and professional services firms being attracted to relocate to the city but existing companies are expanding and there is an exciting new start-up scene in sectors such as life sciences, fintech and creative and digital.

Cllr Huw Thomas, Leader of Cardiff Council said:

“I am delighted Cardiff Council will continue its role as lead sponsor for the Cardiff Business Awards 2021. This will be an opportunity to celebrate local businesses across the business sectors and recognise how many have dealt with the twin challenges of COVID and BREXIT and the contribution they continue to make to our economy and communities in the capital city. I look forward to sharing the stage with some of these companies at the awards ceremony in November”.

Liz Brookes, Director of Grapevine Events and founder of the Cardiff Business Awards said:

“It is wonderful to have Cardiff Council back as our headline sponsor again for 2021.

The 2020 Cardiff Business Awards featured a record number of fantastic businesses, despite the pandemic which did not diminish their determination to react and adapt to the challenging landscape.

I am looking forward to welcoming a number of worthy entrants in 2021, to celebrate their inspiring success and who all share a common theme of safeguarding, enabling and inspiring their staff through good leadership and team spirit.

If you want to nominate, you have until this Friday (17th September) to get in touch and ensure the business of your choice is recognised among the most progressive organisations in Cardiff.
