Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has confirmed that more than 47,000 people within the most vulnerable groups across the region have now received their Covid-19 booster vaccination.

They have also published answers to frequently asked questions to help clear up confusion over why the booster vaccinations are necessary, how they can be accessed and more.

In Bridgend County Borough, care home residents have all received a Covid-19 vaccine booster shot, and the booster programme is currently targeting frontline health and social care staff and vulnerable people who are aged 75 and over.

Thousands more appointment letters have been issued to people who have already received two doses of the vaccine as the booster programme moves through each of the nine priority groups in turn.

The booster programme is running on time and on schedule, and I would like to thank residents for their ongoing patience and co-operation.

The frequently asked questions at the health board website are designed to provide clarity and peace of mind, and I strongly urge anyone who is concerned about the booster vaccination programme to take a closer look.

    Council Leader Huw David
