Bettws Post Office set to re-open in the new year

A new Post Office branch is set to open in Bettws over three years after it was closed.

Opening on 24 January 2022, the new branch is located in a new site on Tyn-y-Bettws Close, just half a mile from Y Wern where the old branch closed in November 2018.

Situated within a Premier Store, the branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services over longer opening hours.

Katimay John, Post Office network lead, said: “We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible so are now progressing with these plans.

“However, we would welcome suggestions about specific aspects of the change that might benefit customers, particularly on access arrangements and the internal layout.”

It is fantastic to hear that Bettws is to get its Post Office back in the new year after over three years without one.

Post offices provide vital services and are often the heartbeat of the communities they serve. I would encourage all residents within the community to take part in the questionnaire to ensure the new branch is accessible as possible to everyone.

Councillor Stuart Baldwin, Cabinet Member for Communities
