The cost of living is increasing and more of us are looking for ways to save. Saving a little bit of cash each month means that you can put money to one side for emergencies or save for something new. If you find yourself needing cash urgently, having money saved can help with any expenses that you could be faced with. If you’ve not managed to save a good amount yet, do not worry, if you do find yourself with an unexpected bill, loan direct lenders in the uk can help. They supply payday and short-term loans when we find ourselves struggling to pay for unexpected expenses. Saving money in case of an emergency is always helpful, here are a few tips on how to be more frugal with your lifestyle choices.

    Make a food shopping list

You can save by making a list before heading to do your weekly shop. Making note of what you need will prevent you from buying things you could do without. Sticking to the list can also help you stay clear of buying things on a whim. Prepare a list of what is essential for the week and stick to it. Another tip for buying food is to buy wonky fruit or vegetables. There’s nothing wrong with these products, they’re often just misshaped, meaning they’re sold at a discounted price.

    ‘No Spend’ Weekend

You can set yourself a goal each month of trying a ‘no spend’ weekend. Quite literally, this just means spending your time doing something that doesn’t cost any money, such as going for a walk, going to free events or museums, or even just having a movie night instead of spending on a cinema ticket. Saving a little money one weekend a month will go a long way.

    Give Homemade Gifts

Homemade gifts at Christmas or as a birthday present is a great way of saving money. Homemade gifts such as bakes, truffles, candles, jams will all be well received as a thoughtful gift.
