Wellbeing assessment consultation launched in Bridgend

A consultation has been launched to help understand what matters most, in terms of wellbeing, for people and communities in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg area.

The consultation, which takes the form of an online survey, gives residents the opportunity to have their say on a Wellbeing Assessment which will go on to form the basis of a Wellbeing Plan to be published in April 2023.

Bridgend Public Services Board (PSB), a group of public sector and not for profit organisations who work together to create a better Bridgend County Borough, managed the assessment which was carried out jointly with the Cwm Taf Public Services Board for the whole of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg area covering Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Residents are asked in the survey for their views on some key issues from the assessment about cultural, economic, environmental, and social well-being including housing and homelessness, physical and mental health and community well-being and safety.

Well-being is about quality of life and how that is connected to the environment, the economy, the services we need and the culture we share.

The Well-being Assessment has brought together available national and local information, including findings from engagement with people that has given us insight and understanding of the current state of well-being for our communities.

It is important we involve the residents in this consultation period so we can create the most effective outcomes for the wellbeing of the community in the future as a whole, and I urge people to make their views heard through this survey.

    Council Leader, Huw David
