Ysgol Harri Tudur/ Henry Tudor School has been supporting charities, thinking of and helping others during these challenging times.

In the last two weeks, fundraising in school for the Ukraine via the Disasters Emergency Committee has reached just over £2500, which has been achieved through a bucket rattle and a mega bake sale.  (This fantastic amount will be matched by the UK government so is currently a minimum of at least £5000).

It comes after a bumper fund-raising year in 2021, with £550 raised for the school’s wellbeing garden, just over £600 for Macmillan Nurses in October, £800 for Children in Need in December and donations of stocking treats to Sandy Bears Children’s Bereavement Charity.

The Sixth Form also raised £600 for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day this year, and the school is once again collecting Easter Eggs to help Sandy Bears.

Harri Tudur thanks its learners and its families who have already contributed to the fundraising efforts through buying cakes and making donations in school.

Harri Tudur’s fundraising will continue for the Ukraine, with staff and sixth form now cycling from Pembroke to Kiev on two static exercise bikes in school reception, giving up any free time they may have before or after school.

It is expected that this virtual journey which began on Wednesday 23rd March, will take 3 weeks and that the school aims to raise a £1 per mile.

Donations are welcome and would be really appreciated and can be made via the school’s Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/harritudurtokyivbikeride
