Dozens of employers and local organisations will be attending the upcoming Bridgend Jobs Fair to offer a whole host of exciting new job vacancies.

The free event will return this year to the Bowls Hall at Bridgend Life Centre, Angel Street (CF31 4AH) on Thursday 15 September between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

Organised by the council’s Employability Bridgend team in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, both organisations will be on hand to offer advice and support on a range of work, training, and volunteering opportunities.

This year, the Jobs Fair will also include a new Training Zone, which will feature various providers showcasing a range of development opportunities they can offer.

Some of the employers taking part include:

    • Bridgend County Borough Council
    • South Wales Police
    • Avon Cosmetics
    • First Cymru Buses
    • G4S
    • Careers Wales
    • A & R Cleaning Services
    • MPS Industrial
    • Rubicon Wales Facilities Management
    • Harlequin Home Care Ltd
    • Wilmott Dixon

A range of temporary and permanent vacancies will be available to apply for on the day.

Staff from Bridgend County Borough Council will also be available to provide details about current vacancies with the local authority, along with advice on training and support opportunities for school and college graduates, and more.

Over the years, the event has attracted large numbers of visitors, and employers have been able to source suitable candidates to fill their vacancies.

The annual jobs fair always proves to be very popular, and I am delighted that the local authority and Jobcentre Plus are working together again to organise this year’s event.

The fair is an excellent opportunity to gain useful information and support on volunteering and training opportunities as well as securing a permanent role.

It has earned a reputation as an event where people can access all the help they need to succeed.

Councillor Neelo Farr, Cabinet Member for Regeneration
