Swansea’s spectacular Oystermouth Castle will play host to outdoor theatre again next week

Shakespeare’s classic A Midsummer’s Night Dream is set to return to the iconic Mumbles venue on the 25th August.

Produced by Quantum Theatre, the production is brought to Oystermouth Castle by Swansea Council.

Swansea Council cabinet member for Investment Regeneration & Tourism Robert Francis-Davies said: “We have been putting on outdoor theatre at Oystermouth Castle as part of our annual events programme for many years and it has now become a firm favourite in the summer events calendar.

Tickets will also be available at the gate in the evening. of a classic comedy of love, intrigue and mayhem.

“We would encourage spectators to bring a picnic or pick up a take-away from one of the many excellent local food and drink premises and enjoy the castle’s idyllic setting for an evening of live theatre and entertainment.”

The famous plot sees four young unsuspecting lovers become entangled in their magical affray – and soon no mortals are safe in the bewitched woods outside Athens.

Doors open at 6.30pm on Thursday, August 25, with the show starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are available online until Midday Thursday 25th August via visitswanseabay.com

Tickets will also be available at the gate in the evening.

The event is sponsored by Swansea business Home from Home.
