Palé Hall, the grand Victorian mansion on the edge of Snowdonia – this week hosted The Concours of Elegance tour of Wales, a three-day event which saw a collection of some of the rarest cars from around the world – many of which will never have been seen before in the UK.

The Concours entrants toured the beautiful countryside of north Wales and before their grand arrival at Hampton Court Palace for the special 10th Anniversary event on 2-4 September.

Over the three days, HRH Prince Michael of Kent stayed at Palé Hall and complimented the beauty of Wales and surrounding countryside. There was also a performance from the Pen-y-bont Fawr local male voice choir, led by Rhonwen Broom, which he said was the best he had ever heard and he even asked them to sing the Welsh National anthem for him.

Established in 2012, the inaugural Concours of Elegance was held within the private grounds of Windsor Castle to mark the diamond jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen’s reign. Organised by Thorough Events, the first Concours of Elegance set a new global benchmark for a classic car concours; winning prestigious awards in the process; unheard of for a ‘start-up’ event in its first year. Since 2017, the Concours of Elegance has been held at Hampton Court Palace. Only the highest calibre of cars are invited to the Concours of Elegance, event, with the rarest from all over the world painstakingly selected by Thorough Events’ team of automotive experts and enthusiasts.
