THE Welsh Ambulance Service is inviting nominations for its annual awards ceremony.

You can nominate staff and volunteers in any part of the organisation in more than a dozen categories, including Team of the Year, Great Listener and Inspiring Others.

The People’s Choice Award enables members of the public to extend a special thank you to a team or individual for providing excellent care.

You can also nominate a member of the public for a Public Recognition Award, designed to celebrate those who go above and beyond to help people in their community.

Anyone can submit a nomination, including staff, volunteers, patients, members of the public and partner agencies.

Chief Executive Jason Killens said: “Being a member of Team WAST is not just any job; it’s a job that makes a real difference.

“Often, our people don’t realise that what they do is special; they see is as part of their daily job, so the WAST Awards are an opportunity to pause and reflect on their achievements and say a big thank you.

“We’re especially keen to receive nominations for the People’s Choice Award, which gives the public the chance to pay tribute to a team or individual who has provided excellent service.

“While the WAST Awards celebrate the fantastic work of our people, it’s also important to recognise those in the community who have helped fellow citizens, which is why we’re also inviting nominations for the Public Recognition Award.

“I’m so inspired by the service we provide across all aspects of our work, throughout the whole organisation, and I look forward to seeing this year’s shortlist.”

Click here to submit a nomination, the closing date for which is 13 October 2022.

Once entries have closed, staff and the public will be able to influence the winners by casting a vote online.

Winners will be announced at the virtual WAST Awards in November.
