Families looking for free fun this month can visit the city centre’s Castle Square which is set to host a spectacular spooky Saturday.
Swansea Council’s annual Spooks in the City event on October 29 will appeal to residents of all ages in the big build-up to Halloween.
It’ll feature family entertainment, games and dance performances – and a pumpkin parade supported by Brace’s Bakery.
Cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “Castle Square will be transformed for Spooks in the City in line with the Halloween theme.
“The activities will have a family-friendly feel and will help generate footfall to provide a boost for local traders. The event will be free, which is welcome at a time when so many people are encountering financial challenges.”
Spooks in the City is due to take place on Saturday, October 29,from 11am-4pm.
There’ll be music, glitter tattoos, theatrical make-up, pumpkins, craft workshops and Halloween props for photo opportunities.
Competitions will look for the best costume, best scream and scariest face. Games will include the pumpkin stomp, throwing the witch’s hat, the toilet paper mummy, a pumpkin relay and pin the spider on the web.
The pumpkin parade at 3pm will see witches, ghouls and other characters – led by samba drummers – tour the city centre.
Visitors are urged to wear their spookiest costume and join in the parade. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
