Two-courses for £15 at Marco Pierre White’s Cardiff and Swansea restaurants

In response to the current cost of living crisis the Marco Pierre White Restaurants’ group has introduced a new offer which it hopes will encourage guests to continue to dine out.

Available across participating venues within its 40-strong, UK-based estate – including the Cardiff and Swansea Steakhouses – the two-fold strategy has been put in place to firstly help venues attract diners into the restaurants while giving guests a great deal which allows them to dine out without costing too much.

In addition to the two for £15 offer, there is also a three-course for £20 deal.

Darren Coslett-Blaize, brand director for Marco Pierre White Restaurants said: “Like every business in the country, we’re hugely conscious on the rise in energy bills across our restaurant estate. This is also having a major impact on the cost of all the ingredients.

“From the consumer side, everyone is feeling the squeeze, so we want to provide a menu that will allow our guests to visit without feeling they can’t enjoy themselves because of the cost.

“In today’s incredibly fast-moving and turbulent times, we all need an element of escapism and enjoying a meal out with family or friends is one way to get away from it all. Sharing a meal will hopefully bring a smile to people’s faces and allow them to then face the day-to-day life admin and work with added optimism.

“Guests can of course still choose to dine off our à la carte or seasonal specials menus which has a close deference to the autumn.”

For both the £15 for two-courses and £20 for three-courses there’s a range of autumnal dishes that mixes British classics with the French cooking techniques that made Pierre White a household name.

    Anchovies

For starters guests can choose from a Beetroot & Hen’s Egg Salad, Welsh Rarebit, Potage Paysanne (a lightly curried leek and potato soup with smoked haddock, cheddar cheese and croutons) and Fillets of Spanish Anchovies.

The mains section has some firm favourites such as Steak Haché Lyonnaise, Confit Duck Leg with béarnaise sauce and Koffmann fries and an Aubergine Parmigiana. The mains also include a Butcher’s Steak with béarnaise sauce and Koffmann chips, Marco’s classic Wheeler’s Fishcake and a Creamy Polenta with aged Italian cheese.

    Chocolate Brownie

The desserts are just as tempting and includes a Traditional Rice Pudding, Autumn Fruits Poached in Sparkling Wine and a Union Jack Cheese plate by Long Clawson. There is also a gooey Chocolate Brownie or ice cream and sorbets.

Darren added: “We’re not limiting the choices guests can have and want them to still think they can go out to celebrate a special occasion or birthday or just go out for a bite to eat knowing there’s plenty to choose from without breaking the bank.”

The menu is available 12-5pm Monday – Thursday.
