£1 car rentals launched from South Wales to London and Birmingham

DriiveMe has launched one-way car rentals from South Wales to London and Birmingham for just £1.

Those looking for a bargain in Cardiff, Newport and Bridgend can now take advantage of car rentals cheaper than a supermarket meal deal thanks to DriiveMe, the £1 one-way car rental service.

Having launched last April with four routes available, DriiveMe has expanded to 35 routes across the UK including rentals from Cardiff Airport to England’s two biggest cities: London and Birmingham.

All routes on DriiveMe are available at just £1– all you need to pay are any tolls and the fuel you use on your journey. So for families looking to get to the airport without the risk of unreliable public transport or friends looking for an affordable weekend road trip getaway, DriiveMe is the perfect option, with fully comprehensive insurance included.

We tested the DriiveMe website to see if we can get a £1 rental from Cardiff…

Why just £1? With DriiveMe, the principle is simple: To balance their fleets, car rental companies need to move their vehicles between cities on a daily basis. Until recently, this was done primarily using expensive and inefficient transporter trucks. Enter DriiveMe, who help car rental companies more than halve their costs by linking up the vehicles they need to move with private individuals wishing to carry out the very same trips for just £1.

So, what is there to see and do in England’s top two cities this August? Birmingham welcomes the internationally renowned pop princess Britney Spears, joined by multi-platinum selling artist Pitbull, for her record-breaking European tour “Piece of Me” at the Genting Arena on August 31st. Meanwhile, you don’t want to miss the biggest street party in London at the Notting Hill Carnival, drawing thousands of people from across the country to fill the streets with Caribbean colours, steel drum music and spicy flavours.

“We’re so pleased to bring DriiveMe’s £1 car rentals to Wales, opening up intercity transport to England’s top two cities for the budget conscious. A car rental can now cost you less than the price of your morning coffee.”

“There are loads of fantastic events happening in London and Birmingham this year, and I’m sure drivers across South Wales will be eager to get there at a fraction of the cost!”

£1 rentals can be booked using DriiveMe’s mobile apps (available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store) or at driiveme.co.uk.
