Neath Port Talbot Public Services Board has published a draft Local Well-being Plan and is asking for feedback to help ensure that the final plan will help to improve well-being across the county borough.

The Board brings together public, private and third sector organisations to improve the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of Neath Port Talbot.

Cllr. Steve Hunt, Council Leader and Chair of the Neath Port Talbot Public Services Board said:

“Earlier this year, the Board published a well-being assessment that captures the strengths and assets of people and communities across the county borough.

“The assessment told us that Neath Port Talbot has a lot to be proud of, such as our beautiful natural environment, our rich cultural and industrial heritage and our track record of attracting investment. It also highlighted the challenges and opportunities we face now and in the future in terms of improving social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being.

“The assessment has informed the priorities in the Draft Local Well-being Plan. We would very much appreciate feedback from residents, third sector organisations, charities, local businesses and community groups on whether these are the right things to focus on.”

The four local draft objectives in the plan are:
    •    To ensure all children get the best start in life
    •    To ensure all our communities are thriving and sustainable
    •    To ensure our local environment, culture and heritage can be enjoyed by future generations
    •    To ensure there are more secure, green and well paid jobs and that skills across the area are improved

The consultation is now open until Wednesday 15th March 2023 and will be used to inform the final Well-being Plan which will be published in May 2023. More information and an online feedback form can be found at www.npt.gov.uk/psb.
