Deliveroo and Welsh burger joint, The Grazing Shed, have teamed up to put a twist on a takeaway classic by creating a limited-edition Welsh Cake Burger, helping Cardiff locals celebrate St David’s day.

What’s more, Deliveroo customers will be able to get their hands on the burger for FREE as Deliveroo gives away 301* vouchers in Cardiff from Wednesday, 1st March 2023 to Friday, 3rd March 2023 worth £12.00, to help locals celebrate St David’s Day at home.

The Deliveroo x The Grazing Shed Welsh Cake burger consists of a traditional Welsh cake ‘bun’, locally sourced beef patty and bacon, melted blue cheese, handmade cajun mayo and red onion confit, and topped with crisp fresh lettuce.

Grill Master Huw Taylor from The Grazing Shed spent over two weeks developing the limited-edition Welsh Cake burger, with ten different recipe combinations tried and tasted before hitting on the perfect recipe worthy of pleasing burger fans this St David’s Day on Wednesday (1st March).

Jason Morgan, Commercial Manager of South Wales, Deliveroo, said: “We challenged one of Cardiff’s most-loved Deliveroo restaurants, The Grazing Shed, to create a special limited-edition ‘Welsh Cake’ burger for locals to order direct to their doors on St David’s Day.  We know this is an unusual combination, but food discovery, innovation and creativity has always been at the heart of what we do at Deliveroo. So we are proud to partner with The Grazing Shed who have absolutely smashed this challenge, offering a unique dish that champions a much-loved traditional Welsh food with a modern-day twist to celebrate this important national day. Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!”

The voucher code WELSHCAKE can only be used at The Grazing Shed Cardiff – it will go live on Wednesday, 1st March January at 11.00 (AM) and will be valid until Friday, 3rd March at 10.29 (PM). There are 301 vouchers in total available — one redemption per Deliveroo account. Geographical restrictions and delivery fees apply.

The code is redeemable against any dishes on the menu, such as the limited edition Welsh Cake Burger or any of their range of mouth-watering burgers:

St David’s Day Limited Edition Burger

    • The Welsh Cake Burger – (Total: £11.55)

Deliveroo also recommends the following The Grazing Shed burgers:

    • Spicy Uncle Pedro – (Total: £11.55)

    • Yokozuna! Beef – (Total: £11.55)

    • Argie Bargie – (Total: £11.55)

The Welsh Cake burger will be available to Deliveroo customers in Cardiff for a limited time only on The Grazing Shed menu from 1st March – 3rd March, priced at £11.55, excluding delivery and service fees.
