Young people from Aberaeron Youth Club have kindly raised money for Angharad Children’s Ward in Bronglais Hospital.

Cara Jones, Ceredigion Youth Worker said: “The young people who attend Youth Club decided that they wanted to raise money for a local cause. It was decided by the young people that this years proceeds would be donated to Angharad Children’s Ward. Money was raised by designing their own Christmas cards, pebble art and hot chocolate cones. The young people then sold them at local Christmas fairs.”

Mari and Scarlett who are members of Aberaeron Youth club presented the money to the ward and said: “The Angharad Ward offers great care and support to many children and young people and it was great for us to be able to give a little back to them and their wonderful staff.”

Alun Williams, Deputy Leader of Ceredigion County Council and Cabinet Member for Through Age Wellbeing said: “Well done to all those who raised money for such a worthy local cause. I’m sure the ward are delighted with the contribution towards their vital service.”

Youth Clubs offer young people aged between 11 and 16 the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and relax with friends in a safe and inclusive environment. Aberaeron and Cardigan Youth Clubs are open between 3.30pm and 6.30pm every Wednesday, whilst Aberystwyth Youth Club is open between 3.30pm and 6.30pm every Thursday.
