Persimmon Homes has appointed a new managing director at its West Wales region.

Following the recent retirement of the region’s long-standing MD, Andy Edwards, Stuart Phillips has been promoted from his previous position as Deputy Managing Director.

During his thirteen years with Persimmon, Stuart has worked in various roles, including as Head of Land and Director of Land and Planning.

Stuart will now assume responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the business, which is building quality new homes for local people at numerous sites stretching from Pembrokeshire to Bridgend.

Stuart Phillips – new managing director for Persimmon Homes West Wales.

Commenting on his new role, Stuart said:

“I am delighted to be taking on this new role and I’m privileged and humbled to follow in Andy’s footsteps.

“Working alongside Andy has been an absolute pleasure, and he’s built a fantastic team here in West Wales and left the business in a very strong position.

“Over the past couple of years the business has made some significant strides forward, which is epitomised by the consistent quality of our new homes and our five-star HBF quality rating.

“I looking forward to working with the regional chairman and my team at West Wales to ensure we maintain our upward trajectory and continue to deliver improvements, where possible, in our operational delivery.”

Congratulating Stuart on the promotion, Persimmon’s chairman in Wales, Stephen Cleveley said:

“I am delighted Stuart has been promoted to Managing Director for the business in West Wales, which is fully deserved.

“Since taking over as Deputy Managing Director last autumn, he has strived to deliver for our customers and for our staff.

“Our West Wales region is in an excellent position and is consistently delivering quality new homes and communities for local people, which I have no doubt Stuart will continue to drive forward.

“On behalf of Persimmon, I’d also like to pay tribute to the retiring MD, Andy Edwards, who is a true stalwart of the business.

“Andy leaves an incredible legacy at the West Wales region with many facets of the business recognised as best-in-class across the group, and he should be extremely proud of everything he has achieved during his time with the company.

“Thank you Andy from everyone at the Persimmon family, and all the best to Stuart in his new role.”
