The Classic Car Show is again making a pit stop at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience, Rhondda Heritage Park Museum this Summer!

The event offers a fantastic time for all the family, with the chance to see pristine classic cars and meet their enthusiastic and knowledgeable owners. It all takes place on Saturday, June 24th, 10am – 4pm.

The event is, as always, held in association with Glamorgan Classic Car Club. Entry is £3 per person.

Cllr Ann Crimmings, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, said: “The Classic Car Show is always welcome at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience. The cars on display are always immaculate and give us a glimpse into life in days gone by. It is perfect for an attraction that brings history to life through its exhibitions and popular underground tour.

“It’s always great to meet the car club members and hear stories of their cherished cars and the work that goes into looking after them! It’s also a chance to show all the little ones the classic engines and unique models we rarely see on our roads anymore.

“Plus, with so much else to see and do on site, it’s a great day out for all the family.”

If you’re coming along to this year’s Classic Car Show, don’t forget you can also visit the free, interactive exhibitions, enjoy a meal, snack or afternoon tea at Caffe Bracchi, and pop into the gift shop to browse or add to your collection of souvenirs, classic Welsh gifts or local produce.

Organisers have also announced that resident crafters, Craft of Hearts, will run a craft fayre and craft demonstrations on the 1st floor.

Visitors are more than welcome to treat themselves to a Black Gold Underground tour, where they will be fitted with their miners’ helmet by a former collier and taken underground and back in time.

All of the tour guides are former coal miners who will share their personal stories and memories with you. Ride DRAM! A simulated experience in which the last coal of dram journeys to the top of the mine shaft – hold on tight!
