Renowned culinary tasting experience, Six by Nico is expanding, taking its immersive dining experience to a new city. Opening in Cardiff on Monday 14 August, 2023, this exciting expansion brings innovative dining to the vibrant Welsh capital, promising an affordable and accessible tasting experience like no other.

Located at the former Zizzi’s site in the heart of Cardiff (27 High Street, CF10 1U), the new restaurant will captivate locals and visitors alike with its unique concept of a rotating six-course tasting menu, carefully curated by Nico Simeone and his talented team which changes every six weeks.

Six by Nico has firmly established itself as a dining destination of choice, pushing boundaries with its ever-evolving menus and exceptional service. From indulgent flavour combinations to stunning presentation, Nico and his team (Andy Temple, Chief Creative Officer and Rachael Rafferty Chief Operations Officer) push the boundaries of creativity, showcasing their passion for culinary artistry with every plate.

The concept has garnered international recognition and critical acclaim since its debut in 2017, with successful restaurants subsequently opening in Edinburgh, Manchester, Belfast, and London.

Starting at £39 per person, each inventive menu tells a story through a series of artfully crafted dishes, carefully designed to evoke emotion and ignite the senses. There’s also the option to enjoy an expertly selected wine and specialist drinks pairing for an additional £30 per person.

Founder and Acting CEO Nico Simeone comments, “We have been lucky enough to grow our concept, since opening a small 30 cover restaurant in Glasgow in 2017. Cardiff marks a huge milestone for us, as this will be our first location in Wales.

“We are really excited to bring our ever-evolving experience to the community of Cardiff and Wales – it’s a special moment for me and the team who have been here since the beginning, we can’t wait to show off the Six by Nico experience.”

Situated a stone’s throw away from the historic Cardiff Castle, the new Six by Nico site will be relaxed and welcoming, paying homage to the popular landmark by celebrating its iconic medieval and Victorian Gothic structures but with a stylish and contemporary twist. The restaurant concept will reflect the body, colour and natural habitat of the dragonfly – promoting earthy tones and a layer of high energy that perfectly complements the innovative dining experience.

The new restaurant will create 40-50 new jobs for the city, including front of house, back or house and managerial roles. Six by Nico Cardiff are now recruiting for these roles and you can apply via email at: [email protected]

As Six by Nico continues to expand its footprint across the UK, the Cardiff opening marks an exciting milestone for the restaurant. With its commitment to culinary excellence and innovative storytelling through food, Six by Nico is set to redefine the dining landscape in the Welsh capital.
