After winning an injury battle to seal his recent Swedish victory in Malilla, British rider Dan Bewley now has all eyes on the prize for the second time at this year’s British Speedway GP which will roar back to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on September 2nd.

Dan raised the roof in Wales last year, becoming the first British rider to top the podium since Chris Harris in 2007 and he clearly can’t wait to get back.

Britain’s biggest indoor motorsport event will this year celebrate an amazing 21st year in the Welsh capital.

Adding to the excitement for home fans, the fast and furious family fun that is the FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain will also see three-time world champion Tai Woffinden and Robert Lambert as the other two Brits vying for that top spot, with all three in real contention to send the Cardiff crowd wild.

The stage is set for some thrilling on-track action as fans gear up to watch 16 riders compete over 23 heats, with each race featuring four riders battling it out over four laps on 500cc bikes with absolutely NO BRAKES!

Fans will enjoy the highs, extraordinary skills and nail-biting moments as riders compete wheel to wheel for the chance to win one of the most prestigious events in world speedway.

The day starts in the activity-filled fanzone which will take place on City Hall Lawn, featuring a jam-packed schedule including rider autograph sessions, lots of photo opportunities, plenty of interactive activities and chances to meet the sport’s biggest stars.

Speaking ahead of his Cardiff return, Dan said:

“Last year was so good. I’m just looking forward to getting back and seeing what I can do.

“When I got the win last year I was overjoyed and it was something special with the atmosphere in Cardiff, inside the stadium and around the fanzone which is buzzing. You couldn’t get a better place to get your first win in the GPs.

“I knew I could do it but knowing it and doing it are two different things so it was pretty special.

“I could just feel the crowd – riding up the tunnel ahead of the semi-final and then the final and all night really; there’s just something great about the Principality Stadium and the whole energy with the home crowd going wild.

“As a fan as well as a rider, I’ve been to Cardiff a few times – I think the first one for me was 2016; I love the city and everything around it.

“I’ve got a good trip planned this year.  I’ve been to Wales quite a bit after the season ends and I know there are some awesome mountain bike parks close by so maybe that’s where I’ll be this year after the racing ends!”
