Wales’ leading taxi and private hire firm Dragon Taxis has made a donation to NSPCC Cymru to fund the training of a new Childline volunteer councillor and cover the cost of calls to Childline.

The donation is through NSPCC’s Childline Club Cymru membership, which helps recruit and train volunteer councillors for the two Childline bases in Wales. Childline supports children, families and professionals across the country to help make sure children are given the best start in life, free from abuse.

Dragon Taxis, a regional brand of the UK’s fastest-growing taxi and private hire technology platform Veezu, stepped in to donate to the worthy cause through their new community support programme ‘Funded by Veezu’. The programme is a way in which local not-for-profit initiatives can receive grants and funding.

Nathan Bowles, CEO at Veezu, said: “Supporting NSPCC’s Childline Club Cymru for the second year was an easy decision, as the work they do is so vital to the communities in which we work. We want to support our local communities wherever we can and hope this donation will help.”

Hywel Peterson, Chair of NSPCC Cymru Fundraising Board, said: “We’re very grateful to the team at Veezu and Dragon Taxis for their support again this year, as their donation will really make a difference. By funding the training of a new volunteer councillor and covering the cost of calls to Childline, we are one step closer to supporting every child that needs us.”
