The iconic sea front property Can-Y-Bae has been acquired by new owners in a deal that marks an exciting new chapter for this Victorian Llandudno establishment.

Can-Y-Bae Hotel, nestled in a prime location on Llandudno’s seafront has been a cherished part of the local landscape for almost two decades and a firm favourite with visiting theatre companies whilst performing at Venue Cymru. With stunning panoramic views over the bay, the hotel has welcomed guests to its 16 smart en-suite bedrooms, spacious lounge, residents’ bar and ground floor breakfast room. It also boasts a studio apartment, offering a unique and welcoming experience for travellers.

Michael Thompson and David Preece, who have tirelessly managed the Can-Y-Bae for the last 17 years, are leaving the hotel with a sense of pride and accomplishment, passing the torch on to the new owners. The property was sold off an asking price of £620,000.

Former owner Michael Thompson shared his sentiments on the sale: “It’s been an incredible journey. For 17 years we have had the privilege of hosting countless guests, many from the world of theatre, and have created incredible memories of great times at Can-Y-Bae Hotel. We are pleased to be able to hand over the reins to the new owners and look forward to seeing the hotel continue to thrive in the future.”

Neil Thomson, associate director in Hotels Agency at Colliers who managed the sale said: “The Can-Y-Bae Hotel was swept off the market within weeks, a testament to its status as a beloved North Wales gem. This comes on the heels of Colliers’ recent success with the sale of Swn y Mor Hotel, earlier this year, which highlights how popular the region is within the hospitality market.”
