embrokeshire County Council is seeking expressions of interest for table-top pop-up offerings within the popular indoor market in Tenby.

It is hoped that the pop-up stalls will showcase local produce, generate additional footfall and make a positive contribution to the vibrancy of the market.

Potential stall holders can apply for just one day or for regular slots right up to Christmas. Prices for a day start at just £25.

It is hoped that this will provide an opportunity for new businesses and those people wanting to ‘dip their toe in the water’. If successful, it’s hoped there will be ongoing opportunities for more pop-up stalls as a regular feature.

The initiative has come about from joint work between Pembrokeshire County Council and Tenby Town Council. They are working together to see how the market can be enhanced in the short term

County Councillor for Tenby South, Cllr. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall said: “I am pleased that we are offering this chance for local craftspeople, artists and producers to sell their goods in Tenby’s market. This is the start of a long-term plan to improve our market. We know that this is a small first step but I hope it shows everyone that we are committed to the market and determined to enhance it for everyone.”

Council Officers and Councillors have visited other markets to get ideas and Cllr Skyrme-Blackhall added: “We are proud of our market. We have some fabulous local businesses in there and I hope that this is a chance for new businesses to make a start.”

In addition to the pop-up stalls Pembrokeshire County Council is inviting choirs interested in performing to get in touch with them to perform in the market in the lead up to Christmas. The Town Council will be working with stall holders to create a Christmas atmosphere in the market.
