Runners are being encouraged to get ready to secure their spot for the 2024 Ogi Porthcawl 10K.

Next year’s event will be back in the seaside town on Sunday 7 July with entries going on sale on Wednesday 29 November.

Eager participants can pre-register for the event now and be first to know when entries are live. They will also be able to take advantage of the Multi-Buy Offer incorporating Run 4 Wales’ other 10K races for a limited time only.

Ogi, Wales’ leading alternative broadband provider, will be the headline sponsor of the event once again.

It follows the success of its first year of partnership in 2023, which saw fantastic community engagement, as well as an Ogi Jogi pop-up run, with pupils, parents and teachers from Newton Primary School spending an afternoon running to raise money for a new playground.

Steve Brace, Race Director at event organiser Run 4 Wales, said: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Ogi once again to put on the Porthcawl 10K. Like us they value the importance of community and it’s only through support with companies like them, that these events are viable.

“This run set in the seaside town renowned for its surf, sports and beautiful coastal walks is one of my favourites and we’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of runners to take part next year.

“They can expect a great atmosphere and will be able to run past several stunning landmarks including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, as well as the picturesque town centre, Grand Pavilion and the iconic Porthcawl Lighthouse.

“Local businesses were so supportive of last year’s event and we’re hoping we can build on this to make the 2024 event even bigger and better.”

Ogi has been rolling out a brand-new full fibre network, bringing next-generation broadband and voice services to communities and businesses across south Wales including £5million being directly invested in Porthcawl.

Commenting at the launch, Head of Brand and Engagement, Sarah Vining, said: “We’re delighted to be returning as headline sponsor of the Ogi Porthcawl 10K for 2024. After a fantastic year in 2023 that saw thousands of runners take part in the main event, and hundreds of school children join our Ogi Jogi, we just couldn’t say no to returning to the historic Esplanade.

“As we continue our full fibre broadband rollout across Porthcawl, we hope 2024 will be an even bigger race, and can’t wait to get started on its planning with our partners at Run4Wales.”

The popular race which is a staple in many runners’ calendars since it was set up in 2019 will be part of Run 4 Wales’ 10K series. This includes other popular runs across Cardiff, Cardiff Bay and Newport.

Runners can save up to £29 on the cost of race entry with the R4W 10K Series Multi-Buy Offer. Runners entering all four events in the 10K series will save 25%, those who wish to enter three events will save 20% and entering two events will provide a saving of 15%. The time limited offer is available until 14 January 2024, so runners are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment.

Pre-register now and be notified as soon as tickets go on sale on Wednesday 29 November: https://bit.ly/2T3jWCZ
