A RECRUITMENT company has laid the foundations for success in construction employment.

Supertemps launched its construction division at the turn of the year and is making strides in helping to meet a surge in demand for skilled workers in the sector.
Managing Director Sarah Ellwood has even taken on two new faces to lead the department, adding to the five who joined the burgeoning Bangor, Colwyn Bay and Anglesey-based business over the summer.

Vikki Lycett joins Supertemps as Construction Business Manager having spent 15 years in recruitment and eight in the building industry. She is joined by trainee consultant, Rebecca Tyner.
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge and being part of a business which has itself seen significant expansion this year,” said Vikki, mum to Hollie, 6, and two year-old Grace.
“There is definitely a market there for us and we are focused on capitalising on the many building projects currently underway in North Wales, and the vast number of industrial estates and business parks on our doorstep.
“The overall vision is to develop UK-wide, but of course we want to work even closer with the leading construction firms in this region.”
Figures released last week by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed output in the construction sector had increased by 3.3% over the previous three months, supported by a national recruitment drive.
And the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has indicated 150,000 building trade jobs are set to be created over the next five years.
Skills and in particular land and property are also a major focus of the North Wales Growth Bid, driven by the North Wales Economic Ambition Board, which includes infrastructure development at new and current sites and premises across the region.
Sarah says the time is now to anticipate further growth and build their reputation in this arena.
“There is growing demand out there, and these latest statistics reinforce our decision to launch a division focused solely on supporting the construction sector,” she added.
“Across the UK – and North Wales in particular – there is a need for labourers and other tradespeople, but also managers, administrative workers, quantity surveyors, structural engineers, plant operators and more.
“We have a brilliant and experienced team in place who can help to plug this gap and urge companies and candidates to get in touch with us so we can guide them through the recruitment process.”
