A number of popular outdoor attractions are set to reopen in Swansea this Saturday promising a new season of family fun.

Swansea Council-run attractions due to open include the Swansea Bay Rider land train, crazy golf in Singleton Park and Mumbles’ Southend Gardens – and the pedalos at the at Singleton boating lake.

Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “With the days becoming longer and warmer our attractions are ready for another fantastic season.

“They include some great new additions boating lake in the form of two unicorn-shaped pedalos; they’ll be really popular with families!”

Those looking for some fresh-air fun can hop on the Swansea Bay Rider at one of its five stops around the bay, with the newest stop at the new-look Mumbles Skatepark.

It’s running from Blackpill to Oystermouth every weekend from 10.30am–4.30pm and daily during school holidays. All-day hop-on hop-off ticket prices start at £4.30, with under-threes going free.

From Saturday, the crazy golf at Southend Gardens and Singleton will be open every weekend and daily during school holidays this season. Prices start at under £4.

New at Singleton boating lake, the unicorn pedalos were purchased by the council through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. Prices per four-seat pedalo start at £6. Boating will be open every weekend and daily during school holidays.

Oystermouth Castle is due to open on March 27, Blackpill Lido on May 4.

Swansea Prom, from the marina to Mumbles is open as are parks and beaches around the city and county.

The council continues to upgrade the Mumbles sea defences – and the village remains open and accessible on foot, by bike, by bus, car and land train.
