Communities across Wales joined in droves for Keep Wales Tidy’s Spring Clean Cymru 2024. Between 15 – 31st March, individuals, households, community groups and businesses across Wales joined forces to pick up litter from our streets, beaches, parks and beauty spots.

Nearly 5,000 bags of litter were collected across the country during the campaign, protecting the environment and showing that even small acts on your doorstep can make a big difference.

The Great Big School Clean also took place alongside Spring Clean Cymru, encouraging schools across Wales to get involved and helping children to learn the importance of caring for their local environment.

Public events were also held with other partners during this campaign including Rib Ride Adventure Tours, ASH Cymru and Snowdonia National Park.

It is hoped that the success of Spring Clean Cymru will inspire other people to look after their local environment. With more than 245 Litter Picking Hubs across Wales providing equipment to borrow for free, it’s never been easier to get involved.

Owen Derbyshire, Keep Wales Tidy Chief Executive said:

“Spring Clean Cymru may be over for another year, but we hope other people will be inspired to get involved in litter picking. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time and the Litter Picking Hubs make it easy to get hold of the right kit for free. Whether you choose to clean up your street, your favourite park or beauty spot – every piece of litter removed from the natural environment matters.”

To find your local Litter Picking Hub, visit the Keep Wales Tidy website.
