esidents are advised about the temporary traffic and bus arrangements for the ‘Beating the Bounds’ event in Llantrisant this Saturday.

The event organiser Llantrisant Town Trust requires two separate road closures on Saturday, June 8 – outlined on the following map.

The first closure (8am-6pm) encompasses Swan Street, George Street, a section of High Street, Heol-y-Sarn and the Common Road (leading to Castellau road and Llantrisant Business Park access road).

Entry and access to Llantrisant Town Centre will be maintained via Heol Las and Heol-y-Beiliau for the duration of this closure.

The second closure (1pm-3pm) encompasses High Street (south-east of George Street to Cross Inn Road), along with Cross Inn Road, Main Road and Llantrisant Road.

South Wales Police will control the traffic movements as and when required along these routes during the closure.

For both closures, access will be maintained for pedestrians, emergency services, and to premises. Cyclists should dismount and take the pedestrian routes.

During the second closure (1pm-3pm), the following temporary bus arrangements will be in place.

The Edwards Coaches service 100 will use the A473 bypass from Cross Inn to Gwaunmiskin. It will be unable to Old Llantrisant and Brynteg, while the pick-up at Beddau Square will be from the opposite side of the road.

Stagecoach service 124 will be unable to serve Cross Inn Road, Talbot Road and Llantrisant Leisure Centre, but will be able to serve Cross Inn.

Stagecoach service 404 will operate via the A473 bypass between Cross Inn and Gwaunmiskin. It will be unable to serve Brynteg and Old Llantrisant.

Please note, these temporary bus arrangements only apply between 1pm to 3pm on Saturday (June 8) – normal services will operate outside of this two-hour period.
