The largest cultural festival in Europe, The National Eisteddfod is held in a different part of Wales each year and is currently taking place until Saturday 10th August in Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd.

Just down the road is an award-winning craft distillery located in the cellars of the 400-year-old, Grade-I listed Hensol Castle. Hensol Castle Distillery recognises the importance of the Eisteddfod to Welsh culture and the team has created a Limited Edition Gin with 100% of the profits going towards the Eisteddfod fund.

Castle Hensol Jin Myfyr Morganwg is a twist on the distillery’s award-winning Welsh Dry Gin, infused with an acorn distillate to recognise the significance of the oak tree to the druids and inspired by local bard and archdruid, Myfyr Morganwg.

The Limited Edition Gin is available to purchase at The National Eisteddfod, as well as direct from Hensol Castle Distillery for £35 per bottle (or £60 for two bottles).

Dai Wakely, Master Distiller at Hensol Castle Distillery, commented:

“We love to experiment with new flavours here at Hensol Castle Distillery and were thrilled to have the opportunity to create a new, limited-edition gin to help benefit the Eidsteddfod appear which relies heavily on local fundraising. We’re proud of the Jin Myfyr Morganwg and hope gin fans love it too.”
