Cardiff lands an all-new and forward-thinking party on Friday 27th September, the result of a collaboration between the city’s innovative Tramshed venue and local big hitters ThisIsVersa and Midi Cartel. Playing the first event are US garage pioneer Todd Edwards, new school tastemakers Y U QT, and My Nu Leng. Versa Takeover and Midi Cartel join the lineup with their cutting-edge collectives in a night that blends fast-rising local talent with hugely respected international names.

Tramshed has long been leading Cardiff’s scene from the front. The influential live music venue hosts a wide array of shows and parties from world-renowned bands to cutting-edge DJ talent and everything in between. Located in a Grade II-listed building that was once the old tram depot, it’s an atmospheric space with world-class production. There is no better place for a huge night of quality house, garage, and bass music. Tramshed will deliver top-tier talents for Cardiff’s most-in-the-know crowds while also showcasing some of the city’s best hometown stars.

Leading the charge is Todd Edwards, the US legend who laid down the first blueprint for garage way back in the nineties and remains one of the scene’s most vital innovators with his famously chopped-up and vocal-heavy sound. New school innovators and Midlands pair Y U QT have made a huge impact on the scene with their long line of bass-heavy, smartly sampled and irresistible dance floor bombs on labels like Timeisnow and their own self-titled imprint, so expect a bouncing set full of fresh energy.

My Nu Leng have been shaking up the bass music scene for a decade with their electric sets at the world’s finest venues, killer compilations for the likes of Fabric and tunes on cult labels like Black Butter, Shogun Audio and many more. They can do it all from deeper garage to techno-infused sounds so expect a full spectrum from them.

Also lining up are Cardiff collective Midi Cartel aka Heavy Cream, Selom, MOOD$ and Jellie who have long been pushing the boundaries of electronic music with their fresh and lively blend of bass, rave, breaks, garage, techno, house and more both in the club but also with their popular show on Voices radio.

Completing this mouthwatering first event is ThisIsVersa, Cardiff’s newest bass music label and event series. They are focused on bringing a blend of top European talents and local DJs to their events and will also reflect the sounds of the dancefloor with their label arm. This high-profile collab with Tramshed is surely a statement of intent.

Tickets are available now from tramshedcardiff.com.
