A 34-year-old Wrexham woman has been jailed for assault and harassment.
Naomi Maybury, of Wheatsheaf Lane, Gwersyllt, admitted three charges including of stalking without fear and assaulting a witness and a police officer.
She began harassing the victim in June last year after an altercation between the pair.
She reported Maybury to the police the following month after she threatened to assault her and had shouted several unpleasant remarks at the victim’s child.
But Maybury continued harassing the victim having followed and approached her at numerous locations.
In August, Maybury passed the victim at a shop, where she once again shouted unpleasant remarks at her and her child.
She then attacked her on December 23rd in an unprovoked incident, as she followed her home with her child.
When she was arrested that day, she spat in an officer’s face.
At Mold Crown Court on Thursday, January 30th, she was jailed for 15 months.
She was also handed a three-year restraining orders to protect the victim and her child.
Investigating officer Zoe Harrison said: “Maybury’s harassment, intimidation and violent behaviour caused considerable distress to the victim and her family, instilling a sense of insecurity and removing their feeling of safety, which has had a profound and lasting impact.
“I commend the victim for her bravery in coming forward to ensure Maybury was held accountable for her actions.
“I hope this case serves as a reminder that harassment and violence will not be tolerated, and that we will deal robustly with anyone who sees fit to assault police officers.”
