Tide, the popular outdoor coffee shop at Halen Môn, has launched a new covered seating area, to allow visitors to enjoy the panoramic views of Eryri and out over the Menai Strait all year round.

Named Pabell, after the Welsh for canopy, the venue is also being offered to charity and community groups who can hire the space for free for activities, courses or meetings.

The Pabell provides an additional facility for the recently-expanded Wild Seaweed Bath barrels, a further investment by Halen Môn designed to attract more visitors and tourists during the colder months of the year.

Jess Lea-Wilson, brand director at Halen Môn said:

“We’ve been working hard over the winter months to add to our year-round visitor offer, with the expansion of our seaweed bathing barrels, the creation of new landscaped areas and now this upgrade to our all-weather outdoor cafe.

“Through our programme of donations and volunteering we support dozens of groups, events and fundraisers in the community around us, and have done for many years. Having the Pabell as a facility is a fantastic addition to that work as it now means groups can come and visit us – it’s a lovely open-air venue for anything from yoga and meditation to nature courses or star-gazing.

“As well as being, we hope, a valuable resource for the community, it is also adding to the area’s overall visitor and tourism offer as we all seek to attract new and returning visitors to this beautiful part of Wales,” she said.

Catrin Hughes, founder of Dwylo Bach, a pre and post-natal community said:

“Sessions based at the café and outdoor area at Halen Môn are a firm favourite among my customers. The unique and peaceful setting is the perfect backdrop and the refreshments available are a delicious bonus. The staff are always so helpful and create such a welcoming environment, it’s no wonder my tickets sell out super quick – we always feel truly lucky to be there,” she said.

    Comedian, Kiri Pritchard Mclean, added:

“I’ve played venues all over the world and Tide remains one of my favourites. A warm atmosphere, enthusiastic locals and the most incredible backdrop. It’s the perfect place to be creative in the community,” she said.

The Tide coffee shop is currently open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm and offers a range of hot and cold drinks, snacks, and cakes, stocking Welsh producers including Coaltown Coffee, Jin Môr gins, and Anglesey Sea Salt crisps.

Tide and the Pabell are dog-friendly, have dog treats available and have also just added a new ‘stick library’ for pets to play with while they visit.

Community groups can make a booking for the Pabell by contacting Halen Môn via their website.
