Newport-based Hexa Finance has announced the appointment of Michael Oxby as Advisor to the Board. With over 40 years in the finance industry, including two decades in Managing Director roles at major institutions like Santander, Macquarie, and Allied Irish Bank, Michael brings extensive experience to the team.

Having previously worked alongside Hexa Finance co-founder Ben Davies during his time at Macquarie, Michael is familiar with Hexa’s operations and objectives. In his new role, he will focus on business growth, strengthening relationships with funders, and supporting Hexa’s ongoing expansion.

Throughout his career, Michael has held senior leadership positions in both UK and international financial services organisations. His background includes leading Santander UK’s Asset-Based Lending division and serving in executive roles at Hewlett Packard Financial Services and Heller Financial. Additionally, he contributes to the UK Digital Health Council (UKDHC) as a voluntary board advisor and serving on its Finance Committee.

Hexa Finance, established in 2020 by Ben Davies and Stuart Mason, has expanded to a team of over 20 and has provided funding solutions to more than 7,500 businesses across 30 sectors. Michael’s appointment reflects Hexa’s focus on strengthening its leadership as it continues to scale and support businesses with financial solutions.

Michael commented on his new role: “I’m pleased to be joining Hexa Finance at such a pivotal time. Having worked with Ben before, I know the ambition and drive he and Stu bring to the business. Hexa has built strong relationships across the industry, and I look forward to using my experience to help the company grow further, support more businesses, and continue to build on its success.”

Ben Davies, Co-Founder of Hexa Finance, stated: “We’ve known Michael for a long time and have always valued his expertise and approach. Having him on board is a big win for Hexa, and I have no doubt he’ll make a real difference as we continue to grow. His experience will help us refine what we do, open up new opportunities, and build on the strong foundations we’ve already laid.”
