A fresh and vibrant business offering healthy lunches and smoothies has officially made its debut in the heart of Bridgend County Borough.

GOODNESS, nestled on Wyndham Street, welcomed its first patrons on Friday 21 March.

This independent venture brings new vitality to a previously unused commercial space, offering nutritious food and beverage options to those working, shopping, or visiting the town centre.

The Bridgend County Borough Council’s Economic Development and Enterprise team played a significant role in supporting GOODNESS by providing a Business Start-up Grant.

They assisted the business in forming new financial connections for growth and helped them access the Retail Rate Relief.

“I’m really excited to start my business in Bridgend Town Centre. I’ve always wanted to create something that promotes a healthy lifestyle, and I hope that GOODNESS will offer a refreshing alternative for people on the go.” “I’m extremely grateful to the Economic Development team at Bridgend County Borough Council for supporting me in the early stages of my journey, and I’m looking forward to trading in Bridgend for many years to come.”

Kayleigh Hopkins, the owner of GOODNESS

The opening of GOODNESS represents another positive development for Bridgend town centre, as the previously vacant unit now thrives with activity, drawing more visitors to the area.

“I’m delighted to see such an energetic start-up bringing fresh ideas and healthy options to Bridgend. It’s fantastic to see local entrepreneurs choosing to set up in our town centre, and I’d like to wish GOODNESS every success. I’d also like to thank our Economic Development team for the practical support they continue to offer new businesses throughout the county.”

Councillor Neelo Farr, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Housing
