YMCA Cardiff has been announced as the chosen charity for the Wales Business Awards 2025.

YMCA Cardiff, based in Roath, is dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness. The local branch is part of the YMCA, the oldest and largest youth charity in the world which supports 228,000 children a year across England and Wales.

YMCA Cardiff provides tailored support services that address the root causes of homelessness while offering individuals the opportunity to rebuild their lives, as well as empowering young people to discover who they are and what they can achieve.
The charity’s core services include safe, supported accommodation, mentoring schemes, a healthy relationships programme, youth clubs, and a range of community activities and support services through YMCA Plas, a community centre designed to foster engagement, wellbeing, and social connection.

YMCA Cardiff is also committed to environmental sustainability, with developments such as the Adref housing project which incorporates green practices and renewable energy sources.

Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid will be raising awareness and fundraising for YMCA Cardiff during the Wales Business Awards ceremony in June.

The event sponsored by Bevan Buckland LLP, which celebrates the best of Welsh business, takes place on 12 June at the Holland House Hotel Cardiff, with broadcaster Andrea Byrne returning as host.

Andrew Templeton, CEO at YMCA Cardiff, said: “At YMCA Cardiff, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to create a better future for themselves. We are deeply committed to supporting those facing homelessness and disadvantaged young people and empowering them with the tools and guidance they need to create lasting, positive outcomes. The work we do is driven by a passion for social justice, community, and care, and we are proud to be recognised as a charity that makes a real difference.”

Gus Williams, Interim CEO of Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid, said: “We are thrilled to be supporting such an important charity at this year’s Wales Business Awards. YMCA Cardiff’s work in breaking the cycle of homelessness and supporting young people to find their true potential is truly inspiring, and we are honoured to be giving them a platform for awareness and fundraising.

“The awards are set to be an evening to remember, and we look forward to welcoming a range of businesses from across Wales to give back to such a life-changing organisation.”
