BAFTA Cymru has announced the nominations for the 2026 BAFTA Cymru Awards, celebrating excellence in film and television broadcasting and production across Wales.
The winners will be revealed during a ceremony hosted by Owain Wyn Evans at ICC Wales in Newport on Sunday, October 4.
Feature film Madfabulous leads this year’s nominations with six, followed by The Guest with five.
Stori’r Iaith and Under Salt Marsh have each received three nominations.
Bariau, Havoc, Keep the World Away – Finding Gwen John, Other Voices: Cardigan 2025 with Huw Stephens, Richard Burton: Wild Genius, The Man in My Basement, Y Crwydryn and Y Golau: Dŵr have each secured two nominations.
Several performers, presenters and writers have received their first BAFTA nominations this year.
They include Buddug Povey, nominated for Actress for Rownd a Rownd, and Sian Reese–Williams, who is recognised in the same category for Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards.
Tom Cullen has received an Actor nomination for Trespasses, while Sian Eleri is nominated for Presenter for Keep the World Away – Finding Gwen John.
Writers Claire Oakley and Lisa Baker have received their first nominations for Under Salt Marsh and Madfabulous respectively.
Eve Myles has secured her 10th BAFTA nomination for her performance in The Guest.
Matthew Rhys receives his fourth BAFTA Cymru nomination for Actor for The Beast in Me, while Gabrielle Creevy has also secured her fourth nomination for Actress in The Guest.
Directors Euros Lyn and Gareth Bryn have each received their ninth Director nomination. Lyn is nominated for Wayward, while Bryn is recognised for Karen Pirie.
This year also marks the return of member voting in the Feature/Television Film category. BAFTA Cymru voting members decided the longlist before jury deliberations selected the nominees and winner.
Television and radio presenter Owain Wyn Evans will return to host the ceremony for a third time.
Evans currently presents the Early Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and is known for his record-breaking 24-hour Drumathon for BBC Children In Need.
He has also joined the presenting line-up of BBC One’s Homes Under the Hammer, hosts Wales’ Home of the Year and regularly appears on The One Show.

A host of special guests representing the sector’s creative talent will join Evans to announce the winners during the ceremony.
