This half term, The Red Dragon Centre is set to come alive with colour, creativity, and community spirit. On Wednesday 28 May, the Centre will host a vibrant Community Fun Day, bringing together families, local makers, and joyful festivities in the lead-up to Eid Al Adha.

In partnership with Now In a Minute Media, a media and culture platform by Muslims in Wales that works to inspire and encourage participation in creative spaces, the event will feature the Centre’s first-ever pre-Eid market, running from 11am to 6pm. The market will showcase a wide variety of handmade treasures – from artisanal jewellery and wellness products to beautifully crafted candles, henna stencils, and greeting cards – offering perfect gift ideas while supporting talented local creators.

From 12pm to 4pm, families can also enjoy a range of free, drop-in activities, including lantern making and face painting. A Stitch tribute character will make appearances throughout the afternoon to celebrate the release of the new film, offering fun photo opportunities for fans of all ages.

“We’re proud to have curated a line-up of talented local makers for this event and to be delivering the lantern-making workshop with brilliant local facilitators,” said Mariyah Zaman, CEO and Co-Founder of Now In a Minute Media. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible creativity of our community in a fun, inclusive setting.

Events like this are especially important for the Southern Arc of Cardiff and Butetown, helping to connect with and celebrate the contributions of Cardiff’s 150-year-old Muslim population. They also support the city’s commitment to affordable, inclusive, and child-friendly spaces, offering families safe and joyful ways to spend time together.”

As one of Cardiff Bay’s key leisure destinations, The Red Dragon Centre offers a wide range of indoor entertainment under one roof, including a cinema, bowling alley, amusement arcade, restaurants and cafés, as well as a gym and casino.

Emma Constantinou, Marketing Manager at The Red Dragon Centre, added:

“We’re excited to welcome visitors of all ages to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, take part in the festivities, and explore the wide variety of entertainment and dining options the Centre has to offer.”

The Community Fun Day is a free event that invites everyone to celebrate, shop, and enjoy the lively atmosphere with family and friends.
