KNOOPS, the British brand revolutionising chocolate drinks with its unique and completely customisable chocolate % menu, is opening its 27th UK store in St David’s Cardiff, the first in Wales. This store is a big milestone for KNOOPS as it reaches another new territory, with this location completing stores in all countries across the UK.

Opening its doors in Cardiff city centre on The Hayes at St David’s,  on Friday 20th June, shoppers will be able to customise their bespoke hot chocolates, iced chocolates, and milkshakes from KNOOPS’ extensive menu of chocolate %s and additions.

Founded by Jens Knoop in 2013, who opened his first store in Rye, the brand created the concept around Knoopology: the art of crafting the perfect chocolate drink.

KNOOPS has over 20 different chocolates – from 28% White to 100% Extra Dark – nine different dairy and plant-based milks and over 20 extras like sea salt, orange zest, chilli and cinnamon. Drinks can be poured as a smooth hot chocolate, iced chocolate, or blended with ice cream for a deliciously thick milkshake. There is something for every taste, mood and individual – you can even top your drink off with the addition of a KNOOPS handmade marshmallow from The Marshmallowist.

Founder of the brand, Jens Knoop, adds: “Bursting with history and filled with students and tourists, KNOOPS is perfectly placed to offer Cardiff a unique experience, with hundreds of delicious chocolate drink combinations to choose from. We’re thrilled we’re now in each country of the UK and can’t wait to keep continuing to expand in 2025 across the UK and beyond.”

Speaking on the latest opening, Centre Director of St David’s Cardiff, Helen Morgan, comments: “The countdown is on until guests have a taste of KNOOPS and its next-level hot chocolate at its very first Welsh store this summer. Opening on The Hayes at St David’s, Knoops will complement our collection of vibrant and must-visit food and drink destinations in the heart of the city.”

A top destination for students – boasting three local universities – Cardiff will be able to make the most of KNOOPS’ generous student discount when visiting the stores.

The latest opening is indicative of KNOOPS’ ambitious expansion plans following recent openings in Colchester, Norwich, Belfast, York, and Newcastle. Other locations can be found across central London, as well as Bristol, Leeds, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Manchester, Cambridge, Oxford, Rye and Brighton.

KNOOPS Cardiff, 37 The Hayes, St. David’s Dewi Sant, CF10 2EF.
