Newport EcoFest, sponsored by Wizard Eco, will celebrate sustainability, with tips and ideas for residents and businesses on how to help the environment, reduce energy and living costs, and improve health and well-being.
The event, which will be on Saturday 4 October from 10am-3pm, follows on from our two big eco-events last year: Newport: Saving Energy Event, and Net Zero Newport: The Electric Experience.
There’ll be lots of family-friendly activities to enjoy, such as a library corner, toy play area, painting and crafting sessions, and bug hotels.
There’ll also be lots of information stalls and presentations where you can find out more about saving energy, and even the opportunity to get one-on-one advice from experts.
Making a return this year from the Saving Energy Event will be the very popular carbon capture game, where players can have a go at a Crystal Maze-style challenge of trying catch as many of the ‘carbon’ balls as possible.
Meanwhile, if you’re curious about electric vehicles and fancy taking one for a spin, then we’ll have plenty of cars available for you to try.
On top of this, there will also be lots of other fun activities, including:
- performances from Children’s Laureate of Wales Alex Wharton
- performances from Tin Shed Theatre
- junk orchestra
- food vendors
- a sustainable shopping corner
Entry is free, just turn up on the day and enjoy.
