Cymru Football Foundation (CFF) has now awarded over £20million to projects across the country to develop fit-for-future facilities that enrich communities.
With support from the FAW, UK Government and the English Premier League, the CFF has allocated just over £6million this year to over 30 projects from Cardiff to Conwy. This year’s investment combined with the £14million delivered since 2022 brings the total to over £20million.
The CFF is a registered charity that supports the development of football facilities through investment and guidance as it delivers on the FAW’s commitment to ‘Inspirational and fit-for-future facilities’ on and off the pitch.
To date, the £20million invested has:
- Benefitted over 35,000 players
- Supported over 200 clubs
- Increased access to facilities for women and girls by 56%
- Leveraged a further £15m in funding contributions towards supported projects
The CFF has invested into 41 new or upgraded artificial pitches, 19 new grass pitches and 34 clubhouses and changing rooms. £8.5million has invested into the most deprived communities across Wales whilst £9million has also been invested into multi-sport venues.
In a year that also saw Cymru’s Women’s National Team qualify for their first ever major tournament, the CFF created Environments For Her – committing £1million to make off-field facilities across Cymru more inclusive.
