Fine and dry start, but unsettled weekend ahead for Wales

Wales will enjoy a largely fine end to the week before more unsettled conditions move in on Saturday, according to the Met Office.

After early fog cleared this morning (Thursday), much of the country saw bright and sunny spells with light winds. Temperatures reached up to 18°C, feeling pleasantly warm in the sunshine after a chilly start.

Tonight will stay dry with clear skies, but it will turn cold in places. Rural areas may see patchy fog and even a touch of grass frost, with lows dipping to around 2°C.

Friday looks set to be another bright and settled day once any morning fog patches clear. Most areas will enjoy long spells of sunshine, although it may turn a little cloudier in the east later on. Temperatures will be slightly down on Thursday, peaking around 17°C.

The weekend will bring a change. Saturday is expected to be cloudier and breezier, with rain at times moving across Wales. Conditions improve on Sunday and Monday, with most places staying dry and seeing occasional sunny intervals, though a few showers cannot be ruled out. Temperatures through the weekend will be close to average for late September.
