Leading property consultancy Cooke & Arkwright has successfully assisted Greggs, the UK’s favourite bakery chain, in acquiring a prominent new retail unit at St David’s Dewi Sant Shopping Centre in Cardiff city centre.
The new store, which occupies the former Trespass unit, opened its doors to customers 7th October. The unit spans approximately 2,250 square feet on the ground floor with an area for external seating in the St David’s Way mall, offering a bright and modern space for customers to enjoy Greggs’ popular range of freshly prepared food-on-the-go.
This latest acquisition forms part of Greggs’ ongoing UK-wide expansion strategy, which aims to bring its much-loved offering to even more high-footfall locations. The new St David’s Dewi Sant store will employ 20 people local to the area, contributing to the city’s economy and providing opportunities for employment and career development.
Cooke & Arkwright’s Retail & Leisure team secured the lease for Greggs, using their market knowledge and innovative approach to secure a good outcome for all parties.
Huw Thomas, Director of Retail & Leisure at Cooke & Arkwright, commented, “We’re proud to continue supporting Greggs in their ambitious growth plans throughout all of Wales. St David’s Dewi Sant is one of the UK’s leading retail destinations, and this new store will benefit from strong footfall and excellent visibility, in a prominent position within the shopping centre’s main mall. It’s a great addition to Greggs’ portfolio.”
Jonathan Dent, Greggs’ Regional Property Manager said, “Opening our new store at St David’s Dewi Sant marks another positive step in our growth across Wales. We’re proud to be investing in Cardiff, creating new jobs, and supporting the local economy. We’re grateful to Cooke & Arkwright for helping us secure this fantastic site.”
The new store joins a growing number of Greggs outlets across Wales, reflecting the brand’s continued investment in the region and Cooke & Arkwright’s dedication to helping clients thrive in dynamic retail environments.
