Wales is set for a noticeably colder spell this week as temperatures drop and wintry showers move in, according to the latest Met Office forecast.
After a bright but chilly start to the week, conditions will turn increasingly unsettled with some areas seeing sleet or snow over higher ground by midweek.
Monday
Most of Wales will enjoy a dry and sunny day today, though Anglesey and Gwynedd may see more cloud at times. It will feel cold despite the sunshine, with northerly winds easing through the afternoon.
Top temperatures will reach around 8°C.
Skies remain clear for many this evening and it will turn cold quickly, with a frost expected in places. Clouds will build overnight and temperatures are likely to lift a little by morning as a few showers begin to develop.
Overnight lows could dip to around -1°C before recovering.
Tuesday
A cloudier day is expected across Wales with scattered showers during the morning and more widespread rain pushing in through the afternoon.
It will stay on the chilly side as winds gradually strengthen.
Highs of around 10°C.
Midweek outlook
The Met Office says wintry showers are likely on Wednesday and Thursday, particularly in western areas, while much of the rest of Wales will see brighter, sunnier spells. Some icy patches and overnight frost are also expected as temperatures fall further.
Friday looks set to start fine and cold before another band of rain moves in overnight.
