It has been one year since missing man Mark Kinson was last seen in Cardiff.

South Wales Police have renewed their appeal for information as the anniversary approaches, saying their thoughts remain firmly with Mark’s family and friends.

Mark, who was 53 at the time of his disappearance, was last seen on Friday 31 January 2025 at around 9.45pm on Uphill Road in Llanrumney. He was then spotted approximately 15 minutes later, at around 10pm, on Captains Walk, walking in the general direction of Braunton Crescent.

Despite extensive enquiries, there have been no confirmed sightings of Mark since that evening.

Detective Inspector Daniel Todd said that Mark’s disappearance remains unexplained, despite a thorough investigation.

He said police understand how distressing the situation continues to be for Mark’s loved ones and shared the family’s hope that answers will one day be found about what happened to him.

Officers have carried out a wide range of enquiries over the past year, including examining phone data and CCTV footage, searching open land, wooded areas and riverbanks, conducting financial checks, and making repeated public appeals for information.

Mark is described as being around 5ft 7ins tall. He was wearing a dark grey blue tracksuit on the day he went missing.

South Wales Police continue to urge anyone who may have information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward. Officers say they will always act on any new and significant information as the investigation remains ongoing.
