Increased patrols will be in effect across Wrexham city centre this weekend as part of matchday policing arrangements.
The 3pm Championship fixture between Wrexham AFC and Millwall will be played at the SToK Cae Ras stadium on Saturday, 7 February.
A sell-out crowd has been confirmed for the match, with around 10,600 fans expected to attend.
Accordingly, police resourcing for the event has been escalated to ensure public safety.
Reports of low-level disorder at Wrexham’s recent away fixtures resulted in a small number of fans being arrested or ejected from the stands.
At QPR’s Loftus Road ground on 24 January, four Wrexham fans were arrested for public order offences while another was arrested for Class A drug possession.
At Hillsborough a week later, seven individuals were ejected from the away section in a fixture against Sheffield Wednesday.
Superintendent Mark Williams said: “Supporter and community safety is our primary concern on any matchday, particularly when capacity crowds are in attendance.
“Attending matches in Wrexham should be an enjoyable occasion for all, and we will continue to take a strong stance against any kind of football-related disorder.
“North Wales Police and Wrexham Football Club are aligned in our views on fan behaviour at football games and, where disorder does occur, we will work collaboratively to identify suspects, pursue criminal proceedings and football banning orders for those involved.
“We know that most Wrexham fans behave responsibly and adhere to expected standards of behaviour at games.
“As a force, we will continue to work closely with the club, its supporters, and the wider community to ensure that match days in Wrexham are safe and enjoyable for all.”
The designated pub for away supporters visiting Wrexham this weekend is the Ironworks on Town Hill.
No other licensed premises will be open to visiting Millwall supporters on matchday.
Road closures will be in effect in areas around the football ground shortly before full time to allow supporters to exit the stadium safely.
When visiting the Racecourse Ground, please adhere to road markings and cones, and park responsibly with respect to the club’s neighbours.
The park and ride service on Ruthin Road aims to prevent illegal, dangerous and inconsiderate parking – better for both fans who are going to the match and residents who live within walking distance of the Racecourse.
