WEST END HEALTH has officially opened in Colwyn Bay (Friday), with demand having already exceeded expectations ahead of launch.

Founded by lifelong friends Aaron Ferguson and Andy Boyd, alongside Dr Trevor Ferguson, the clinic introduces a new model of private GP-led preventative healthcare to the region.

The service has been designed for people seeking quicker access, longer appointments, and a more proactive approach to staying well.

Based within state-of-the-art facilities at the long-established West End Dental practice on Conway Road, they aim to bring “a premium standard of care to a local setting”.

Andy revealed the level of interest had gone far beyond what the team anticipated, having announced their imminent arrival just two months ago.

“We set ourselves clear targets ahead of launch and the response from local families has been overwhelming,” he said.

“We’ve had an incredible number of people get in touch, with some families signing up within days of the announcement.

“It’s been a really strong start, and we’re now seeing additional enquiries from people who wanted to wait until we were officially open.”

Many early members have taken advantage of discounted Founder Membership pricing, securing locked-in renewal rates, with the majority signing up as families.

“That family uptake is a brilliant foundation for the future,” said Andy.

“It shows there’s a real appetite for joined-up preventative care people can rely on over the long term.”

Interest has come from well beyond Colwyn Bay with patients signing up from across Conwy, Denbighshire and the wider North Wales area.

The founders said they are also in early discussions with local employers interested in supporting staff wellbeing through membership, as part of a wider plan to work closely with businesses and community organisations across the area.

They are due to speak at a North Wales Business Club event in March to share more about the preventative model and employer support options.

“We’ve had people willing to travel for high-quality care and for our annual health assessments which have proven to be a real point of difference,” said Aaron.

“People are placing their trust in us and we’re very grateful for that. We’re proud to have a place at the heart of this community.”

West End Health has opened with four experienced clinicians offering same-day GP access where appropriate, as well as pre-bookable appointments, longer consultations, and comprehensive annual medical and dental assessments.

The founders say the model is intended to support continuity of care, with membership numbers capped to protect access and quality.

The model is designed to prioritise prevention and complement existing NHS services for those who want additional access and support.

“We have four clinicians of the highest standard, all with huge experience and genuine excitement about this new proposition for the area,” said Andy.

“It’s about delivering consistently high-quality care in a way that feels personal.”

The founders confirmed that new membership packages are already in development to build on early momentum. Due to strong demand the popular Founder Membership offer has also been extended for a limited period.

Looking ahead the team reiterated plans to expand the service beyond Colwyn Bay developing a multi-site model of joined-up preventative care across North Wales, and in time, beyond.

“We’re delighted to finally be open,” said Trevor.

“The response here in Colwyn Bay has been really positive and it’s exciting to see how the coming months unfold as we look to grow.”
