Motorists are being warned of overnight lane closures on the M4 eastbound between Junction 24 Coldra and Junction 26 Malpas as resurfacing works get under way.

Traffic Wales has confirmed that restrictions will be in place on three nights in February to allow essential maintenance to be carried out on the carriageway.

The closures will operate from 8pm until 6am on the following dates:

    • Friday 6 February
    • Monday 9 February
    • Tuesday 10 February

Drivers travelling through the Newport area during those times are advised to plan ahead, allow extra journey time and follow any signed diversions.

The improvement works form part of ongoing efforts to maintain the strategic road network across south Wales and improve safety and driving conditions for road users.

Traffic Wales said that access will be maintained where possible, but some disruption is expected while the resurfacing is completed.

Updates on traffic conditions will be available via Traffic Wales channels, and motorists are encouraged to check before setting out on their journeys.
